Your role will be integral to the delivery of good outcomes for the people we support with a focus on preventative work, promotion of strengths-based approaches and development of community assets.

As part of a supportive and flexible team, you will work with the Social Care market, alongside partners in health and housing and with people who receive support. • You will play a role in the mobilisation and monitoring of the VCS Front Door as well as preparing for the refresh of our Closing the Gap VCS Framework. We are also anticipating further activity – commissioning and procurement – to support unpaid carers.
  • You will link with other teams across the Council including the Advice and Wellbeing Hub, Public Health and the Council’s
  • Legal Team Contract and Procurement hub; as well as working with other organisations including Providers and Health.
You’ll be part of a team that expects everyone to contribute their best.  As well as close colleagues, you’ll also be one of Team Reading, playing your personal part in making Reading a successful and vibrant place.

Our vision is to ensure that Reading realises its potential as a great place to live, work and play, and that everyone shares the benefits of this success. Our values and behaviours guide how we will achieve this:

Work Together as one team – work collaboratively, with each other and with our partners, and demonstrate the Team Reading values in everything we do.

Make a Difference to Reading – maintain the highest levels of customer service and be flexible and willing to provide the services needed at the time they are needed

Our offer

We offer a supportive environment to grow and develop your career with the opportunity to put your ideas across. Innovation and ambition is strongly encouraged, and you’ll get a great feel for that working in our friendly and collaborative environment.
