Your New Role

Reporting to a Development Manager you will provide specialist technical support to the Development Management Team to enable the provision of an efficient, economic and effective service to customers. You will provide day to day technical input into the processing of planning applications, including being responsible for registration and validation of applications. You will provide technical input into appeals and the enforcement process. You will update records, produce standard reports and communicate to service users in writing, in person and by telephone.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will need good literacy and numeracy skills, as well as previous experience working in a busy office environment. You will need experience dealing with a diverse range of audiences. Ideally you will have experience using Office, GIS and application databases and be able to interpret land use and architectural plans which involve working with numerical information.

Having experience in local authority planning would be an advantage.  You will need a good level of attention to detail and be able to work as a supportive team member and on your own initiative. You will have experience developing and maintaining good working relationships and experience working in a regulatory environment.
